This exquisite butterfly is pretty small – from just over ½ inch wide to just under an inch wide. It is grey overall with a few orange and white scales forming a distinct pattern, and has tiny tails on the hindwing. It will nectar on the shrub Bebbia juncea, a rayless Composite that is a native plant found in several states in the South West including California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas.
